Project Overview

The M&E Contractor, OES, were looking for a Contractor to provide a detailed design for the Security and Accessibility systems within the newly refurbished Kilmartin Museum which houses over 22,000 historically significant artefacts and asked Rapid Fire & Security to aid the design proposals.

With such historical significance and value within the building ensuring that the building was secured with an appropriate camera and security system, in the first instance, was paramount.

We recommended an appropriate IP CCTV system and high-end Grade 3 monitored Intruder Alarm to secure the building. We also provided design and installation services for the Accessible system elements within the building so that the building is free to be used by all.

Given the nature of the building and the volume of different people funding and responsible for different elements of the refurbishment Project, the background work on this was extensive. Ensuring all architect and consultant specifications were met within the design brief and that all Certification was provided. This was over and above the challenges presented by the remote location of the Museum in relation to our central belt HQ and the multiple site visits necessary over the 6 months period.
