We were requested by one of our clients, Michael Laird Architects, to survey for the installation of a new Fire Alarm System within their Edinburgh City Centre office block.

The challenges presented by this request were the make up of the building as it is an old sandstone type and there was no real scope for the installation of fire protected cables to facilitate new cabling infrastructure.

To that end we recommended a wireless type EMS solution and brought in the Manufacturer to carry out a full wireless survey of the areas in conjunction with ourselves providing design input to BS 5839-1:2017.

We completed the installation in a single day with a further days commissioning which caused the minimum amount of disruption as the Office remained functional and operating throughout.
